The majority of dives starts directly from the beach. Therefor it´s recommended to have an own rental car useable. Best would be pick up version.

Regarding disposability and rental fee it´s recommended to order the rental car in advance from home. Ever follow the notice to leave your rental car unlocked and no valuable belongings inside. Only locked cars catch the interest of thiefs.

The Island is surrounded by a reef, which in the year 1979 was declared to a Marine State Park. More than 80 dive spots invite you for easy dives. Water temperatures are between 27°C and 29°C. The under water visibility of about
30 m is outstanding.

For starting your dive activities at first you have to check in at a dive station where you have to pay US$ 25,00: a one-time entrance fee for the Marine State Park (valid for one year) and show your diving certification, log book and last health check. Sometimes even requested by the dive stations it´s at least recommended to have the first dive at the house reef in front of your dive station to check the right weigth quantity for accurate buoyancy..

After your first check dive you can load the air tanks on your pick up, gather some hints according your chosen dive spot from the dive station crew and let´s go.

The under water ambient is plentiful of variants. Soft and hard corals, the Caribic well known giant sponges, gorgonies and much more take care about amazing colours and alternatives. There live parrot fish in all colours, swarm fish, barracuda, muraena, turtle and with a little luck you will encounter dolphins or manta rays.

You are free to go with your rental car to every dive spot on the island. These dive spots are marked on the road maps and by a yellow stone beside the coastal road, name of the dive spot written on it. Nevertheless you are free to stop between two marked spots for a dive.

Depending of the chosen dive spot you have to swim or dive between 30 and 50 m from the beach line to the reef edge.

Obviously there are many possibilities for boat dives on Bonaire, we personal believe that this effort it´s not worth.

You are not allowed to wear gloves during the dive. This, as other measurements should protect the reefs. The previously mentioned Marine State Park fee will be returned to the Marine Park authorities.

We favored working together with Edelgard´s ocean adventures. She offers very good service also for rebreather.

Usualy you have to pay around US$ 110,00 per 6 days / person for non limit shorediving.
